Shared Governance

Shared Governance enables discussions to take place among key campus groups prior to decisions being made. Members of upper administration, faculty, and students all participate in these discussions. Staff Council serves as a center for input and dissemination of information and provides a means of communication between staff and other members of the Pitt community.

Staff Council members are appointed to committees throughout campus to represent staff interests. Staff Council members are appointed or already serve on Board of Trustees committees and Senate Council committees. Although most of these meetings are confidential to the public, Staff Council members champion the interests of staff.
