University's Fitness for Life

The focus of the University’s Fitness for Life program is to encourage proactive healthcare management for its faculty and staff members as well as their family members. Proactive healthcare management not only helps individuals to manage or avoid health risks which can improve their well-being, but it also helps to reduce the University of Pittsburgh Fitness for Lifehealth care costs that we all pay for collectively.

In addition to the ongoing positive initiatives that the University has offered to encourage a healthy lifestyle, such as covering in-network preventive care visits at 100%, the University, in conjunction with UPMC Health Plan, will continue to offer new initiatives, incentives and programs that will support proactive healthcare management.

For members who are “well,” the focus will be on staying well. For any members “at risk,” there will be opportunities and information provided to help lower that risk. Members with chronic healthcare conditions will be encouraged to participate proactively in care & condition management programs.

It is with these proactive programs and initiatives that the University will continue to work with faculty and staff members, as well as their families, to encourage “Fitness for Life.”

The PITT ARTS

The PITT ARTS Cheap Seats program is available to University of Pittsburgh staff, students, and faculty, and includes deeply discounted tickets to some of the most sought after arts events in the city! PITT ARTS offers Cheap Seats to eleven different arts organizations including Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Pittsburgh Symphony, Pittsburgh Opera, Pittsburgh CLO, and many more.

You can reserve tickets outside the PITT ARTS office at 929 William Pitt Union with your valid Pitt ID. Fill out a ticket order form, attach payment (exact cash, check, or credit/debit card), and put it in the appropriate lock box if the office is closed. Your tickets will be waiting for you one hour prior to the performance at the appropriate venue. Be prepared to show your valid Pitt ID at the Will Call box office. It is that simple.

Each person can purchase up to four tickets for all shows (with a few noted exceptions), and you can take non-Pitt people!

The events involved are not Pitt sponsored events or venues. Rather, PITT ARTS works with arts organizations to ensure that "best available" seating is offered for a low price.
