The Staff Association Council (SAC) at the University of Pittsburgh represents the nearly 6,500 staff members at the University and provides a voice for their thoughts, concerns and suggestions. SAC maintains an important communication link between staff members and the administration and makes recommendations to the University administration on matters of general University concern, particularly staff related issues.

J.P. Matychak elected Vice President of Steering

SAC elected J.P. Matychak as the new Vice President of Steering at the March 9 meeting.  Accepting his new position Matychak stated " I can say from my time here at SAC that I believe in this organization. I may not agree with everybody all the time, because we have many different personalities, but one of the things I’ve liked is that we’ve always welcomed each other’s opinions, and that’s something that I’d like to see continue. I do look forward to working with all the chairs and the committees to help them as much as possible. Let’s face it: That’s where the real work gets done for this organization.”

Awards given by Chancellor for staff excellence

Congratulations to the members of the University of Pittsburgh staff who were recently honored by the Chancellor for their service to the University and to the community.  You can find a list of awardees here.
     

In 1997, the first Chancellor Awards for Staff Excellence were presented.  Thank you to all Pitt staff who continue the tradition of staff excellence each and every day.
